janis ligats3Summer 2018 is almost over and a lot has happened since June!
Here you will find a short summary with the most important facts about my summer 2018:

·       It was a hot one and therefore i ate lot of ice cream and did many swims in the Aare river at home in Bern

·       It was an up and down one orienteering-wise: first up was at the selection races for WOC, then a pretty tough down-week at WOC itself where I didn’t feel comfortable with the Latvian terrain at all and also with a difficult position as a reserve runner for almost all other races, then up again with a decent 3rd place at the Middle selection race for the World Cup, then a disastrous Long Distance Swiss Champs and finally I made it up again and could grab the Bronze medal at the Middle Distance Swiss Champs last weekend! You can find a Video Clip about the Swiss Champs here: https://www.facebook.com/SwissOrienteeringTeam/videos/523809021404173/

·       It was one without any holidays but a lot of orienteering, at least I could enjoy some (training)days in the mountains and some funny and kind of holiday days as a spectator at WOC with playing beachvolley or flying through the forest in the zip lining park in Sigulda

·       It was the one I successfully finished my first year of my new education and I also started my first internship as a nutritionist

·       It was the one I travelled to Norway to compete at the World Cup next weekend, let’s hope I can remain on top of the wave now! If you're interested, you can follow the races from Friday until Sunday live here: https://liveorienteering.com/#/event?id=5696
